Description: Hard, silver-white metal. Tantalum commercially is classified into Tantalum carbide, Tantalum oxide, Tantalum powder and Tantalum fabricated sheets, plates, rods, wires. Tantalum carbide has very high hardness like other carbides, is used for cutting tools. Tantalum oxide is for camera lenses, special films and some optical applications. The most important use of tantalum powder is electronic industry as tantalum capacitors.
